The New Year is right around the corner! Of course, we’re going to talk about resolutions!
We’ve talked about goal setting before. Using the SMART goal method and making a plan. Writing down your goals can be motivational and hold you more accountable. What we haven’t talked about is the most important thing. Getting started. Don’t overthink it. Just start!
Have an exercise goal? Go outside right now and walk for as long as you can. Get up and pace around the room for a few minutes. Stand up and do some squats or lunges. Just start moving your body!
What about mindfulness? Set your phone down and pick out five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, and two things you can smell. Download Headspace or Simple Habit and pick a five minute meditation and do it right now.
Looking to eat healthier? At lunch or dinner today, try to make healthier choices. Get a side salad with dressing on the side instead of French fries. Pick something you want and something you think you should have, like broccoli, and put it on your plate.
No matter your goal, just get started!
