Maintaining your goals while enjoying the holidays

We've all overindulged during a holiday because we get swept up in the food, family, and friends. We don't want you to be overwhelmed by eating over the holiday, so here are some tips to help you stay on track:

Have a plan for your meal. You might already know what foods are going to be served. Go in having an idea of what you're plate is going to look like. Maybe set a maximum number of alcoholic beverages you'll drink that day.

Bring a healthy alternative to your favorite dish. You can swap out low fat Greek yogurt for sour cream, use less cheese, or find a macro-friendly recipe that will keep you fuller longer, but still taste amazing.

When you're building your plate, focus on your protein. You can still eat your favorite dish, just grab a smaller portion. If you want seconds, drink a glass of water and wait 10 minutes before going through the buffet line again. Remember to eat slowly and take sips of water in between bites.

Drink water and stay hydrated throughout the day. Maybe, have one glass of water for every alcoholic drink you consume to help keep you from getting a little tipsy and going for seconds or thirds.

Enjoy yourself! Remember one day of overeating is not going to completely ruin your progress. Get right back on track the next day! You've got this!
