GLP-1 medications can support weight loss by regulating appetite but they don’t tell your body what form of weight to lose. Without resistance training, the majority of the weight loss may be muscle mass instead of fat!

Here are some tips from Personal Trainer, Ashton, to aid in weight loss if you're using a GLP-1 medication:
Movement Matters: These medications can help with appetite and weight management and are a useful tool for many, but strength training is key to protecting your muscle mass as you lose weight. Try to hit 3-4 strength training sessions a week!
Listen to your body: You don’t have to lift heavy every single workout. If you’re feeling a little run down, opt for some gentle movements or body weight exercises. Consistency > Intensity!
Prioritize Protein: Protein is a muscle's building blocks! Try to hit your protein goal for every meal. Swap out Greek yogurt for sour cream, put some extra chicken on your salad, or add a protein shake as an afternoon snack.Â
